The Industrial age impacted the natural world, the majestic whale, who raise their young for longer than humans do, where hunted, brutalised and killed for blubber and whalebone, the blubber boiled to make whale oil used in the industrial age for lighting lamps and machine lubrication, ambergris for perfume base & whalebone for decorative ornament. The River Hull played host to the whaling industry a brutal period of human innovation.
