High tide hits the Humber and water fills the estuary, water flows up the River Hull and at every high tide massive flooding occurs along the banks of the River Hull until the Hull Tidal Surge Barrier is built.
Defending thousands of homes and commercial properties against natures might, the pull of celestial bodies, the moon, the planets, gravity, natural cycles of the world which modern man defies with our inginuity and engineering.
The River Hull Tidal Surge Barrier stands against nature protecting the City, but for how long will this barrier remain effective? With scientists globally agreeing increase in sea levels caused by unprecedented climate change is well under way to what extent can we hold back nature in the coming years, when will we collectively realise that it is a migratory World and we live at natures discretion where nature allows us to.
Kingston Upon Hull sits in the River Hull Valley, how many years has the city left before the Ocean reclaims the land or will we endeavour and with further innovation & engineering hold back the Ocean and keep the City alive for centuries to come?
