Winter falls over Britain, the nights draw in, the cold wet weather, nights spent in doors, Xbox & PS4's, Netflix & YouTube until the night stirs "Remember, remember the 5th of November, gun powder treason & plot" over 400 years on and Britain still recalls, penny for the guy not so much, but build a big flaming fire in the middle of the street, yes please, imagination captured. Make a plan over the days before, pick a spot, gather the wood, gather anything, a door, a bike, a fridge, throw it on, smash it up, build the pile. Kids pull together, mates, buddies, pals working together gathering the goods from anywhere they can be found, goods to burn, burning to rebel, fire to be free, lost in the moment, the glow of the flame, the hot flaming heat in stark contrast to the dark cold night, flames rise high to the backdrop of council houses on forgotten estates, living ghosts of the working class, but the people don't forget, they don't give in and tonight they remember. Remembering Guy his mates & their plot, as explosions rock the night sky, bangs & flashes of light & sound echo & illuminate the darkness, breaking the monotony of city life, the smell of burning hangs in the moist cold air, a thin haze of smoke from a city ablaze, the chaos of the night, in memory of Guy and his failed plot, hung drawn and quartered and spread for all to see, a stark reminder to us all of who is in charge & what could have been;
